The land was in darkness

The people in strife

As war, plague and famine 

Robbed folk of their lives

The Gods had abandoned

The people lost hope

The Dragon was dying

By chaos and foe

A hero would rise, for freedom he fought

With steel in his heart it was vengeance he sought

To deliver the people by faith and by sword

With banner unfurled, this was his word

Though the Tyrant had power

His soul was the cost

Enslaved were the people

Their freedom was lost

Before the crown of the five

Warlords crumbled to dust

Yet Vortigern’s bane, Yvaine

Would be his lust

A hero would rise, for freedom he fought

With steel in his heart it was vengeance he sought

To deliver the people through faith and by sword

With banner unfurled, this was his word

Yvaine was dishonoured 

Her husband was slain

Their faithful son Derwen

Vowed vengeance and pain

On the field Carolan

A great battle would come

And with the tyrant thrown down

The curse on the land, was undone
