Fighters are people who make their living as warriors. They are soldiers, mercenaries, bodyguards or simply wandering muscle for hire and 'sellswords'. They are skilled a variety of fighting techniques, using a different weapons.

Combat Specialism
From level 5, Fighters may choose one of the following Combat Specialisms
Hand Weapon Only (named)
Natural 1 fumbles when using the named hand weapon are ignored
Additional +1 to hit when using the named hand weapon
A Disarm attack can be used in place of a normal attack. If successful, the target drops their weapon. Retrieving the weapon will take an action. Note, this skill can only be used on enemies of equal or lower Hit Dice.
Duel Hand Weapon (named)
Natural 1 fumbles when using the named hand weapons are ignored
2 attacks may be made each round when using the named hand weapons . Off-hand attack is made at a -2 'to hit' penalty

Additional +1 to hit when using the named hand weapon
A Shield Bash may be used in place of a normal attack, dealing 1D4 + Strength Bonus damage and with a 2-in-6 chance of knocking target the down (loses next action and move). Note, this skill can be only used against humanoid targets which are of a similar size or less, and can only be used on enemies of equal or lower Hit Dice.
Spear (or similar e.g. Trident, Javelin, Pilum)
Can use a spear and shield together without penalty.
'To hit' bonus also applies if spear is thrown
May attack a target even when an ally, or another enemy stands between them
Natural 1 fumbles when using a spear are ignored
2-Handed Weapon (named)
Natural 1 fumbles when using the named 2-handed weapon are ignored.
Slow weapon penalties when using the named 2-handed weapon are ignored.
Additional +1 to hit and +1 damage when using the named 2-handed weapon.
Archer
Natural 1 fumbles when using a Bow are ignored.
'To Hit bonus' Bonus also applies to use of the Bow.
Each round, the archer may make 2 bow attacks, both at -2 'to hit' penalty, or 1 attack at no penalty. This must be declared before the first shot is taken
Other Combat Rules
Bonus to Armour Class
From level 4, all fighters begin to receive a bonus to Armour Class, this represents their increasing ability to parry and avoid being hit.
Unarmed Combat
Fighters deal 1d3 + Strength bonus damage when fighting without a weapon
